20140307 MOSTHEDINBURG – The Museum of South Texas History has announced that the 30th Annual Heritage Ranch Gala will be held the evening of March 22 at Jack and Tina Scoggins’ Los Novillos Ranch in Hidalgo County. The museum began taking reservations Saturday, March 1. Reservations are $165 per person for museum Friends and $185 for the general public.

The annual recruiting drive to welcome new Heritage Associates, is currently in full swing and offers special benefits in conjunction with the gala. As honored guests, Heritage Associates receive complimentary reservations on par with their level of giving. They are also recognized on the gala invitation and for one year on the Heritage Associate Wall located inside the museum.

A Valley tradition, the gala was originally conceived in 1984, along with the Heritage Associate donor program to develop support for the museum and to raise community awareness of the region’s history.

Amid the beautiful ranch settings selected each year for the gala, this year’s gourmet dinner with a South Texas flavor will be prepared by Don Strange of Texas. Dancing under the stars lakeside will be to the music River Rock Band. Guests will also have an opportunity to learn about native plants at Los Novillos.

Byron Lewis, Development Committee chairman explains, “Collectively, contributions from Heritage Associates make a significant impact on MOSTHistory’s special events, programs and exhibits …and support one-fourth of the museum’s annual operating budget.”
