Family, chemistry at the core of Sharyland’s success

Aside from talent and hard work, that may be one of the ways to explain how one of the top ranked teams in the Rio Grande Valley has managed to develop the chemistry, character, and brotherhood that personifies the Rattlers this season.

Rattlers show character, pull off dramatic victory over Economedes

Progress Times photo by Doug YoungEDINBURG – If anyone saw The University of Texas Longhorns come-from-behind to pull off a last minute 41-36 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday, then they have a good idea of what went on at Cats Stadium two nights earlier between Sharyland and Edinburg Economedes. 

The Rattlers had their character put to the test and overcame a 28-point second quarter by the Jaguars and a 14-point halftime deficit to pull off a dramatic 55-48 victory over Economedes on an 11-yard touchdown run by Sharyland quarterback Tres Barrera with 17 seconds left in the game.

Lady Rattlers get payback, sweep Economedes

MISSION – After weeks of planning and preparation, the Lady Rattlers got the redemption they were looking for since a Sept. 1 loss to Edinburg Economedes with a quick sweep of the Lady Jaguars on Tuesday at the Sharyland Gymnasium.

Sharyland played one of their quickest and most flawless matches of the season en route to a three-game sweep of Economedes, 25-14, 25-10, 25-6. With the victory, the Lady Rattlers improved to 21-5 overall and 9-1 in District 30-5A.
